D-Truce a.k.a. Dusten Truce, real name Chukwuebuka Dusten Anyasie, is a recording and performing artist who started making music around the age of 15, writing his first song in 2009 and going on to record his first song “bounce” and his first feature verse on a song titled “the top” by “Naledge” a year after.
He released a mixtape in the summer of 2011 titled Mixtape Killer under Turnout Records, an American/Nigerian Record label. Although the mixtape didn’t fare too well, he remained relentless in his pursuit of a music career.
Breaking away from the label in early 2012, he forged ahead participating in the popular rap battle competition – Nokia: Don’t Break the Beat, finishing third overall in a field of rappers from all over Nigeria. Following his somewhat successful foray, he appeared on Don’t Break the Beat judge and local rap icon, Modenine’s “Occupy the Throne mixtape”, Rapper – AQ’s E.P “Make your best rapper look stupid” and Cyrus the Virus’ “Infiltration” mixtape.
He continued to gain some exposure; performing at open mic events and café’s in Lagos.
In June 2013, he released “Truce Shall Set You Free, the mixtape” (#TSSYF) featuring the critically acclaimed “See” and “Hold On,” which opened up the door to national radio airplay, considerable online buzz and praises from industry heavyweights like; Cyrus Tha Virus, Osagz, Fazillion and the likes.
The young rapper expanded his horizons, joining the world of advertising as a copywriter, putting his creative juices to good use. He is also a cast member on award winning Nigerian Soap Opera, Tinsel, playing the recurring character “Jared.”
In November 2014, he joined the X3M Music and released his debut single, “Better Days,” featuring label mate, Praiz – the following May; to positive reception from the general public and wide airplay.
In 2016 he released The Eden EP, and kicked off his Joint Tour “Young Kulture” in 2017. The Tour saw him visit and perform at 6 different locations in Lagos with his band.
He went on to release his “23 to Life” EP and two more singles titled “Butterfly” and “Talk to you” before splitting ties with X3M Music in 2018 to continue his solo career as an Indie artist.
